Thanks, Jean. There are many reasons. One hopes that they will be compelling in pushing back this initiative.

"White supremacy, xenophobia, homophobia, and misogyny". No room in the cav for the horseman of the ever-widening wealth gap? It's pretty hard to not see him leading the charge here. After all, the most virulent bigots (of just about any stripe) tend to be fundamentally pessimistic about their fortunes under the status quo, no?

I certainly take concepts like, say, the great replacement theory, or its less radical precursor, the conviction that "immigrants took our jobs" (or even the recent lionization of this "tradwife" thing) to be mythical narratives sprouting from some fairly common ground: a pervasive, inescapable sense that one's elders enjoyed more stability than is currently available, and that one's progeny will enjoy less still.

Hi Joe,

Once again a very well written piece. You have mentioned about Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett lying during their confirmation hearings but forgot about the third Justice Gorsich who also lied. They should be asked to resign from the Supreme Court.

Excellent case for opposing overturning Roe.

The opinion should be an embarrassment to the SC and I too believe it heralds a regression to a time when a women's place was in the oven. Arghhhh!
